How is SJHT organised?

On average 40 people work for the foundation, eight of whom as regular employees. The others work on voluntary terms. The target group of the foundation is represented in all echelons, in the committee and in the group of project managers.                        

Direction and Supervisory board

Until 2008 SJHT used to have a three-layered committee consisting of a managing director, a board of management and a supervisory board. This has been changed into a two-layered construction, consisting of a managing director and a supervisory board. The latter consists of a minimum of six and a maximum of eight members. There are at least two junior supervisors. They are between 18 and 30 years of age and rent SJHT accommodation. Mr D.W. Ruesink is president of the supervisory board and Mr R.M. Mittendorff is managing director.

Project managers

With an eye to SJHT's ideas on young people's participation and learning we work with so-called project managers. A project manager is an intermediary between SJHT on the one hand and the tenants of a certain building or project on the other. He or she is the first to be approached by tenants and SJHT, takes care of the delivery of a unit, the handing over of the keys, and reports irregularities.

Tenants' questions

This department takes care of the registration of those looking for accommodation and is responsible for assigning units. Other activities are mediation in case of conflicts between dwellers and inconvenience, and giving infomation about accommodation

Administration

The administration department takes care of any financial proceedings. It takes care of the tenants' administration, the collection of rent, the budgeting and the annual financial report. Settling tenants' accounts for energy- and service-costs is also one of its tasks.

Building questions and maintenance

This department co-ordinates everything concerning new buildings, renovations and maintenance. Much of its time goes into checking the state of repair and tenants' complaints. Maintenance activities are contracted out to others.
